How to Choose the right Fertility Clinic?

People who have not been able to conceive a child yet, will find the option of going to a fertility clinic, a very beneficial idea. However, before you go to any of the fertility clinics out there, make sure that you have adequate idea about the fertilisation procedures to be used by them; primarily the success rate in helping couples conceiving through this method, the expertise of the surgeons and the cost of the treatment. As such, you should also be on the lookout for clinics offering infertility counselling services which help couples to cope up with their infertility issues.

The success rate of the clinic can be determined by getting the statistics relating the number of live births at the clinic as compared to the total number of procedures in a year. In-Vitro fertilisation has been a very favoured technique for fertilisation in infertile couples. But, before going ahead and participating in sperm or egg donation, make sure that the procedures used by them are legalised and in lines with the prevalent medical guidelines.

Gestational Surrogacy: Giving You an Opportunity to Mother a Genetically Related Baby

For a woman who cannot get pregnant for any reason but still wants to have a genetically related baby, gestational surrogacy is the only option. Unlike traditional surrogacy in which a surrogate uses her own egg for fertilization, the egg and sperm of the intended parents can be used in gestational method. If your own egg cannot be used, an option is still open in egg donation. A donor egg and the prospective father’s sperm can then be used for fertilization.

Fertilization in this method is done in vitro in a lab environment. When the eggs are fertilized, the embryos are transferred into the uterus of the surrogate. Hence the carrier of the baby has no genetic bonding with the baby. On the other hand, if your egg and your partner’s sperm were used, the baby is 100 percent your genetically even if you didn’t give birth to the baby.

Three Tips for Conceiving Post Tubal Reversal

If you are trying to conceive after tubal ligation reversal, there are three tips which you will find helpful. Miscarriage is quite common in women who had undergone a tubal reversal surgery. To minimize such chances, you must take a healthy diet to provide your body with essential vitamins, nutrients, and minerals. You may also take a multivitamin supplement after consultation with your medical practitioner.

The second tip is to stop smoking if you are a smoker. Harmful substances present in cigarettes may prevent the fallopian tubes from healing adequately apart from damaging your general health. If you don’t cease smoking, you open yourself at risk from miscarriage and pre-term birth. The baby’s health may also be affected even if you successfully give birth.

The third tip is to take appropriate medication if you suffer from irregular periods. This problem can occur to women after going through a reversal process.
